Frank Gifford was a versatile American football player, sportscaster, and TV commentator. He dedicated his entire 12-season NFL career to the New York Giants, earning the title of NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 1956. Gifford’s exceptional skills were showcased in both offense and defense, leading to eight Pro Bowl appearances and participation in five NFL Championship Games.
In addition to his football career, Gifford was a prominent sports broadcaster, contributing to ABC’s “Monday Night Football” and “Wide World of Sports.” His work on “Monday Night Football” earned him an Emmy Award, and he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977. Gifford also pursued acting, appearing in films such as “The Nude Bomb” and TV shows like “The Love Boat.”
In 1995, Gifford faced a lawsuit accusing him of having an affair with a flight attendant, but the case was settled out of court. He passed away in 2015 at the age of 84 from natural causes. Notably, Gifford was involved in one of the most brutal tackles in NFL history.
