Francisco “Paco” Gento was a legendary Spanish footballer who played as an outside left for Real Madrid between 1953 and 1971. As a prominent figure in the club’s history, he won an unparalleled six European Cups and 12 Spanish League titles during his distinguished career. Known for his remarkable speed and dribbling skills on the left wing, Gento earned nicknames such as “The Arrow” and “The Gale of the Cantabrian Sea.” He represented the Spanish national team from 1955 to 1969. Gento passed away on January 18, 2022, at the age of 88. Notably, he remains the only player to have won six European Cups in football history.
