Born on September 30, 1957, Francine Joy Drescher is an American actress, comedian, writer, activist, and trade union leader. She gained fame for her role as Fran Fine in the TV series The Nanny, which she also co-created. Drescher has participated in various other projects, such as Living with Fran, Happily Divorced, and Indebted. As a cancer survivor, she established the Cancer Schmancer Movement in 2007 to advocate for cancer detection and prevention. Currently, Drescher serves as the third national president of the Screen Actors Guild â American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA).
