David Finlay Jr., better known as Finlay Wrestler, is a Northern Irish retired professional wrestler and WWE trainer/assistant coach. Born on February 25, 1978, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Finlay followed in the footsteps of his renowned wrestler father, David Finlay Sr., and began training at an early age.
Finlay’s professional wrestling career took off in 1995 when he made his debut in the United Kingdom. He quickly gained recognition for his exceptional in-ring skills and captivating persona, competing in various independent promotions across Europe and establishing himself as a rising star.
In 2001, Finlay signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and joined their developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). He made his WWE main roster debut in 2006 under the ring name “Finlay,” becoming known for his hard-hitting, physical style and signature move, the “Celtic Cross.”
Throughout his WWE career, Finlay engaged in memorable feuds with top Superstars, including Triple H, John Cena, and The Undertaker. He achieved significant success, capturing the WWE United States Championship in 2009 and the WWE Intercontinental Championship once, as well as winning the WWE World Tag Team Championship twice with Hornswoggle.
