Elmo Lincoln (1889-1952) was an American actor and stuntman, renowned for his role as Tarzan in the 1918 silent film “Tarzan of the Apes.” As the first actor to portray Tarzan on screen, he gained recognition for his impressive physique. Lincoln also starred in other Tarzan films, such as “The Romance of Tarzan” and the movie serial “The Adventures of Tarzan.” During World War I, he served in the United States Army. Additionally, Lincoln was an inventor who revolutionized film shooting with his innovative camera crane.
