Elizabeth Smart is an American child safety activist, news commentator, and author who rose to national prominence in 2002 when she was kidnapped at 14 years old and later rescued after nine months. Since then, Smart has dedicated herself to advocating for child safety and working to prevent abductions and abuse. She has authored books such as “My Story” and “Where There’s Hope” and has made appearances on numerous TV shows and news programs. Additionally, Smart founded the Elizabeth Smart Foundation. Besides her activism, she is a skilled harpist who used music as a coping mechanism during her captivity.
