Elena Tonra, the founder and lead singer of the British indie folk band Daughter, gained popularity with their debut album, ‘If You Leave.’ The band has since released several successful albums and singles, such as “Youth,” “Smother,” and “Human,” with Tonra’s haunting vocals and emotionally charged lyrics receiving critical acclaim. Besides her work with Daughter, she has also launched a solo album under the name Ex:Re and collaborated with other musicians, composed music for films, and performed live. Some of her notable works include ‘Not To Disappear,’ ‘Music From Before The Storm,’ ‘The Wilds,’ and her solo project, Ex:Re.
