Drake Sather (May 24, 1959 – March 3, 2004) was a multifaceted American talent, known for his work as a stand-up comedian, Emmy-nominated television writer, producer, actor, and director. He gained recognition for writing on The Larry Sanders Show and co-creating and starring in Comedy Central’s series, Contest Searchlight. Sather made appearances in various films and TV shows, such as Airheads, Mystery Men, and NewsRadio. He earned an Emmy award for his contributions to The Chris Rock Show and frequently performed stand-up comedy.

A skilled pilot with a passion for aviation, Sather owned a 1956 Beechcraft and even flew himself to the Aspen Comedy Festival for a performance. Besides his comedy career, he wrote a script for a film titled Wild Blue, which focused on a group of World War II fighter pilots. Sadly, Sather passed away in 2004.
