Donna Douglas was a renowned American actress, author, and singer, most famous for her role as Elly May Clampett in the TV series “The Beverly Hillbillies,” which aired from 1962 to 1971. Besides this iconic role, she appeared in various other TV shows and films, including “Frankie and Johnny,” “Career,” “The Twilight Zone,” “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet,” and “Adam-12.” As an author, she wrote a children’s book, and as a talented gospel singer, she released a Christian music album called “Donna Douglas Sings Gospel” in 1982. Douglas passed away on January 1, 2015, at 82 years old.
