Denis Colin Leary, born on August 18, 1957, is an American actor and comedian who initially rose to fame as a stand-up comedian with notable performances on MTV and in his stand-up specials “No Cure for Cancer” (1993) and “Lock ‘n Load” (1997). He is best known for co-creating and starring as Tommy Gavin in the drama series “Rescue Me” (2004-2011). Leary has also lent his voice to Diego in the “Ice Age” franchise and appeared in the comedy sketch show “The Job,” films like “The Ref” and “Suicide Kings,” and portrayed Captain George Stacy in “The Amazing Spider-Man” films. Additionally, he co-founded The Leary Firefighters Foundation, which supports firefighters and first responders.
