David Lodge, born on January 28, 1935, in London, England, is a renowned English novelist, literary critic, playwright, and editor. He gained prominence for his satirical novels centered around academic life, with some of his most notable works being “Changing Places”, “Small World”, and “Nice Work”. In addition to his writing, Lodge has dabbled in acting, taking on minor roles in British television series like “Z-Cars” and “Coronation Street”, as well as voicing characters in radio dramas and adaptations of his own books. A graduate and Honorary Fellow of University College London, Lodge is also an Emeritus Professor of English Literature at the University of Birmingham. He holds a fellowship with the Royal Society of Literature and has participated in judging the prestigious Booker Prize.
