Dave Seville, created by Ross Bagdasarian Sr., first appeared in the 1958 novelty record ‘The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)’. He later became a prominent character in the animated TV series ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks’ (1983-1990) and its various adaptations, including the live-action/animated film series (2007-2015). As a songwriter and music producer, Dave discovers the singing talents of the chipmunks and helps them navigate their musical careers while also acting as their guardian.
Dave Seville continues to be a beloved character, with the most recent Alvin and the Chipmunks film, ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip’, released in 2015.
