Fred Rosser, also known as Darren Young, is a former American professional wrestler who gained fame during his tenure with WWE. As the first openly gay wrestler in the company’s history, Young broke barriers when he came out in 2013. He was part of the Nexus wrestling stable, which debuted in 2010, and participated in WWE Tough Enough, WWE NXT, and the reality show Total Divas. Among his accomplishments are winning the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship and the WWE Tag Team Championship.
Beyond wrestling, Young has been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ and anti-bullying causes, promoting inclusivity and acceptance within the wrestling community. In 2010, he was a finalist on the second season of WWE NXT, finishing in second place under the mentorship of CM Punk. Young has also competed in various independent wrestling promotions and is currently signed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), where he is a former Strong Openweight Champion.
