Daniel Clive Wheldon, a British motor racing driver born on 22 June 1978, was renowned for his multiple victories at the prestigious Indianapolis 500, winning the race in 2005 and 2011. This accomplishment made him one of only two British drivers to secure multiple Indy 500 wins. Wheldon’s success extended to the IndyCar Series, where he claimed the championship title in 2005. Unfortunately, his life was cut short in a racing accident at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2011.
Wheldon’s career highlights also include co-winning the 2006 24 Hours of Daytona, as well as triumphs at the Japan 300 and the Detroit Indy Grand Prix.
