Cynthia Lennon, born Cynthia Powell, was an English artist, author, and entrepreneur, best known as the first wife of legendary Beatles member, John Lennon. An accomplished artist, Cynthia created drawings, pastels, and paintings, and authored a book titled “John,” which chronicled her life with the renowned musician. She also managed a successful restaurant, a line of home decor products, and was involved in various education and arts-related charities.
Before marrying John Lennon, Cynthia worked as a fashion model in Liverpool, appearing in local advertisements and fashion shows. She later moved to London to advance her modeling career.
In 1978, she published a memoir called “A Twist of Lennon,” offering insights into her life before and after her marriage to John Lennon. Cynthia was also the mother of musician Julian Lennon.
Cynthia Lennon passed away on April 1, 2015, at the age of 75, but her contributions to art, literature, and entrepreneurship continue to be remembered and celebrated.
