The renowned test pilot and flying ace, Chuck Yeager, passed away on December 7, 2020, at 97 years old. He gained fame for being the first person to break the sound barrier in 1947 while flying the Bell X-1 supersonic test plane. Yeager’s accomplishments also include testing various experimental aircraft and working as a technical consultant for the movie “The Right Stuff.” Additionally, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
