Cheech Marin, a Mexican-American actor, comedian, and writer, rose to fame as part of the 1970s and early 1980s comedy duo Cheech & Chong, alongside his work as Insp. Joe Dominguez, Don Johnson’s partner on Nash Bridges. Best known for their stoner comedy albums and films like “Up in Smoke” (1978), Cheech & Chong became a household name. Marin has also starred in films such as “Born in East L.A.” (1987), “Tin Cup” (1996), and “From Dusk till Dawn” (1996), and lent his voice to animated films like “Cars” and “The Lion King”. Besides his acting career, Marin is an avid art collector and has curated several exhibitions featuring Chicano and Latino art.
