Carl Switzer was an American actor, comedian, singer, dog breeder, and hunting guide, best known for his role as Alfalfa in the 1930s comedy short film series ‘Our Gang’. Throughout his career, he appeared in various films and TV shows, such as ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ and ‘The Defiant Ones’. Switzer also had a successful career as a voice actor, contributing to characters in ‘The Lion’s Busy’ and ‘The Queen’s Corgi’. He was a talented musician and athlete, even participating in the 1930s junior Olympics. Interestingly, Switzer was once hired by The Walt Disney Company to voice Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, but lost the job when Disney lost the distribution rights to the character. Tragically, Carl Switzer passed away on January 21, 1959, at the age of 31.
