Carl Reiner was a renowned American comedian, actor, writer, and director whose career spanned over seven decades. He rose to fame in the 1950s as a performer and writer on Sid Caesar’s television shows and gained further recognition for his role as Alan Brady on “The Dick Van Dyke Show.” Reiner also directed popular comedies such as “Oh, God!” and “The Jerk.” Throughout his career, he received numerous awards and honors, including nine Emmy Awards, one Grammy, and the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Reiner was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1999 and passed away on June 29, 2020, at the age of 98.
