Captain Jack Harkness, portrayed by John Barrowman, is a prominent character in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who and its spin-off series Torchwood. Originally a con man from the 51st century, Jack becomes a companion of the Doctor and later the leader of the Torchwood Institute, a secret organization dedicated to protecting Earth from extraterrestrial threats. His immortality, a result of a time paradox, adds complexity to his relationships and adventures.
Since 2019, Captain Jack Harkness has continued to be a prominent figure in the Doctor Who universe. He has appeared in several new episodes of Doctor Who, as well as in the Torchwood audio dramas and novels. In these appearances, Jack has continued to demonstrate his bravery, resourcefulness, and ability to think on his feet. He has also faced new challenges, such as the rise of a new alien threat known as the Weeping Angels.
In addition to his work on Doctor Who and Torchwood, John Barrowman has also appeared in a number of other television shows and movies.
