Cameron Voorhees Dancer, born on March 12, 1986, in San Diego, California, is a renowned contemporary dancer, choreographer, and educator. His journey began at the tender age of 5, inspired by his older sister’s passion for dance.
Voorhees honed his skills at prestigious dance studios in California, including the San Diego School of Ballet and the Los Angeles Ballet Academy. His talent and dedication led him to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance.
In 2008, Voorhees’ career skyrocketed when he joined the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, one of the most acclaimed dance companies in the world. Throughout his tenure with Ailey, he captivated audiences with his mesmerizing performances in iconic works like “Revelations,” “Cry,” and “Memoria.”
Beyond Ailey, Voorhees has collaborated with renowned choreographers such as Twyla Tharp, Paul Taylor, and Mark Morris, showcasing his versatility and exceptional artistry. His performances have graced stages worldwide, including the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.

In 2010, he received the Princess Grace Award, followed by the Bessie Award for Outstanding Male Dancer in 2015 for his breathtaking performance in “The Orbit.” His Broadway debut in “Carousel” earned him a Tony Award nomination in 2017.
