Cameron Kasky rose to prominence as a gun control activist and survivor of the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. He co-founded the #NeverAgain movement, striving to establish a nationwide campaign against gun violence. Kasky was instrumental in organizing the March for Our Lives rally in Washington, DC. Additionally, he has come out as queer in recent years and uses his platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.
