Brett Halsey, an American actor and artist, is known for his roles in both Italian and American films, such as Return of the Fly, The Atomic Submarine, and The Godfather: Part III. He has also appeared in numerous television shows, including Surfside 6, The Virginian, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Forever Knight, Airwolf, Cagney & Lacey, Dukes of Hazzard, and Knight Rider. Some of his other notable film works include The Best of Everything, The Devil’s Honey, and Edgar Allan Poe’s The Black Cat.

Born on June 20, 1933, in Santa Ana, California, Halsey began his career as a page at CBS Television studios, where he met influential figures like Jack Benny and William Goetz, the head of Universal Pictures. In addition to acting, Halsey is a talented artist who has showcased his artwork in galleries and exhibitions across the United States, France, and Italy, including a solo exhibition in Rome in 2019.

While working in Italy, Halsey often performed his own stunts due to inexperienced stuntmen, which he found to be a bit frightening at times. He is also known for his role as John Abbott on the soap opera The Young and the Restless, appearing from May 1980 to March 1981. Halsey was married to actress Renate Hoy, with whom he had two children, and later had three more children with two other women.
