Billy Connolly, a celebrated Scottish comedian, actor, musician, and presenter, was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. Known as “The Big Yin,” Connolly initially worked as a boilermaker in the shipyards before transitioning into folk-singing, comedy, and acting. Some of his most notable works include the comedy special “Billy Connolly: Live at the Apollo,” his role in the TV series “Head of the Class,” and appearances in films such as “Mrs. Brown,” “The Last Samurai,” and “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.” In 2003, Connolly received a BAFTA Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant contributions to British entertainment.
