Benjamin Obadiah Iqbal Zephaniah, a British Rastafarian writer and dub poet, gained recognition when he was featured in The Times’ list of Britain’s top 50 post-war writers in 2008. Among his most renowned works are his debut poetry collection “Pen Rhythm” and novels such as “Gangsta Rap” and “Teacher’s Dead.” Zephaniah has also contributed to various other projects and accomplishments, including his appointment as a Professor of Poetry at Brunel University and receiving honorary degrees. As an activist and advocate, he focuses on issues related to race and justice. A patron of the Vegan Society, Zephaniah published a cookbook titled “Vegan Revolution” in 2020.
