Arthur Zimmermann (1864-1940) was a notable German politician and diplomat, primarily recognized for his role in sending the Zimmermann Telegram during World War I. As Germany’s Foreign Secretary from 1916 to 1917, he proposed that Mexico form an alliance with Germany against the United States. Zimmermann was also involved in several significant events, such as the Moroccan Crisis of 1905, the Bosnia Crisis of 1908, and the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk in 1918. Additionally, he participated in plans to support rebellions in Ireland and India and assisted the Bolsheviks in undermining Tsarist Russia.
