A. R. Rahman, born Allah-Rakha Rahman on January 6, 1967, is an Indian music composer, producer, singer, and songwriter who has revolutionized the Indian film music industry. Hailing from a musical family, Rahman’s talent was evident from an early age, and he went on to become one of the most celebrated musicians in the world.
Rahman’s breakthrough came in 1992 with the Tamil film “Roja,” for which he composed the music. The soundtrack became a phenomenal success, and Rahman’s unique blend of Indian classical music with Western influences gained him instant recognition. He went on to compose music for numerous blockbuster films in various Indian languages, including “Bombay,” “Dil Se..,” “Lagaan,” “Taal,” and “Rang De Basanti.”
