Anne Holt is a multifaceted Norwegian author, lawyer, and journalist known for her popular crime novels featuring detective Hanne Wilhelmsen, such as “Blind Goddess” and “Death in Oslo.” She has also penned other acclaimed works like “1222,” “Blessed are Those Who Thirst,” and “What is Mine.” Holt began her career as a journalist and news anchor for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) before transitioning to full-time writing. In 1993, she made her debut as a novelist with the crime novel “Blind Goddess,” which introduced the lesbian police officer Hanne Wilhelmsen. Apart from her writing career, Holt served as Norway’s Minister of Justice from 1996 to 1997.
