Suzanne Georgette Charpentier, known as Annabella, was a renowned French actress who gained prominence for her roles in both French and American films during the 1930s and 1940s. She earned critical praise for her performance in René Clair’s “Le Million” and also starred in “Gates of the Night,” “Suez,” “Hotel du Nord,” and “Hôtel du Nord.” In 1951, Annabella was awarded Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her role in “The Cruise of the Medusa.” In addition to her film career, she appeared on Broadway and participated in numerous radio shows. Despite facing a scandalous rumor and a lawsuit from her husband Tyrone Power, Annabella maintained a successful career.
