Anna Ford is a former English journalist, television presenter, and newsreader who initially worked with Granada Television, ITN, and the BBC. In 1978, she made history by becoming ITN’s first female newscaster. Ford played a significant role in launching TV-am, the British breakfast television broadcaster, and was involved in the inception of Channel 4 News. She has also produced a documentary on the Iranian presidential elections. Ford retired from broadcast news presenting in April 2006 and served as a non-executive director of Sainsbury’s. Additionally, she was appointed as the chair of the board of governors at Manchester Metropolitan University.
