Andrew Davies is a renowned British screenwriter and author, celebrated for his adaptations of classic novels for film and television. Some of his most notable works include the screen adaptations of Victor Hugo’s “Les Misérables” (2018), Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” (1995), William Makepeace Thackeray’s “Vanity Fair” (2018), and Leo Tolstoy’s “War and Peace” (2016). A recipient of two Primetime Emmys, Davies has been nominated for numerous awards throughout his career. Besides writing, he has also served as a university lecturer, teaching courses on creative writing and screenwriting.
