Andrea Leeds was an American actress who gained prominence during the 1930s and 1940s for her roles in various films. She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of the social-climbing Diana in the 1937 film “Stage Door.” Some of her other notable appearances include “Come and Get It” (1936), “They Shall Have Music” (1939), “The Goldwyn Follies” (1938), and “Swanee River” (1939). As a popular supporting player in the late 1930s, Leeds had the rare distinction of working with all five major studios during the Golden Age of Hollywood. In addition to her acting career, she was also actively involved in numerous charitable organizations.
