Alice Jane Taylor, known as Alison Uttley (1884-1976), was a renowned English author who penned more than 100 books. She gained fame for her children’s series featuring Little Grey Rabbit and Sam Pig, as well as other notable works such as “A Traveller in Time,” “A Country Child,” and “The Squirrel, The Hare and the Little Grey Rabbit.” A trained pianist and early member of the Girl Guides Association, Uttley was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1974.
