Ali Al-Habsi, born on December 30, 1981, is a legendary Omani soccer player renowned for his exceptional goalkeeping skills. He started his professional career in 2002 with Al-Nasr in Oman before gaining international recognition with Norwegian club Lyn Oslo in 2003. Al-Habsi’s remarkable performances earned him the title of Omani Footballer of the Year a record 13 times.
On the international stage, he became Oman’s first-choice goalkeeper and captained the national team, leading them to victories in the Gulf Cup of Nations in 2009 and 2017. His accolades include the AFC Asian Cup Best Goalkeeper award in 2007 and the prestigious IFFHS World’s Best Goalkeeper title in 2009.
