Albert R. Broccoli, commonly known as “Cubby,” was an American film producer who co-founded EON Productions and was responsible for the iconic James Bond film series. He produced 17 Bond films, including classics such as Goldfinger, Thunderball, and The Spy Who Loved Me. Broccoli also worked on other successful films like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Thief Who Came to Dinner. Besides his work in the film industry, he was committed to environmental causes, supporting organizations like the United World College movement and the World Wildlife Fund. In recognition of his achievements, Broccoli received the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award at the 1982 Oscars. An intriguing fact about Broccoli is that he was involved in a dispute with comedian Ted Healy, which allegedly resulted in Healy’s death.
