Adam Ferrara, an American actor, comedian, and writer, is best known for portraying Chief “Needles” Nelson in the TV series Rescue Me. He has also had roles in other TV shows, including Nurse Jackie, The Job, and Top Gear USA. Ferrara has released two stand-up comedy albums and appeared on popular comedy talk shows such as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show with David Letterman. He currently hosts the podcast ’30 Minutes You’ll Never Get Back.’ Besides his entertainment career, Ferrara is a licensed United States Coast Guard Captain. In 2019, while filming an episode of Top Gear America, he and his crew were stranded at sea for five days before being rescued by a passing fishing vessel. Ferrara grew up in an Italian-American family in Huntington Station, New York.
