Ace Frehley, an American musician and former member of the iconic rock band KISS, is renowned for his guitar riffs and performances on hits like “Detroit Rock City” and “Rock and Roll All Nite.” His notable works include solo albums “Ace Frehley” and “Frehley’s Comet,” as well as contributions to KISS albums “Destroyer” and “Love Gun.” As a member of KISS, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has been cited as a major influence on modern guitarists such as Mike McCready, Dimebag Darrell, Tom Morello, and Slash.
In recent years, Frehley has continued to tour and perform, often with his old friend Alice Cooper. He is known for using various guitars, including his signature Ace Frehley Les Paul Custom model, his famous black 1978 Les Paul Standard, and a three-pickup illuminated “Light Guitar” Les Paul modified by a boutique luthier. Despite his success, Frehley has had a tumultuous relationship with KISS, leaving the band in 1982 and rejoining for a reunion tour in 1992. He has been involved in public disputes with former bandmates, particularly Paul Stanley. Nevertheless, Frehley’s contributions to KISS and his impact on the rock music industry have solidified his status as a legendary guitarist.
