Swedish-American actress Signe Hasso was renowned for her roles in both European and American films, including “Heaven Can Wait” (1943), “A Double Life” (1947), and “The House on 92nd Street” (1945). She also appeared in “Johnny Angel” (1945) and “The Seventh Cross” (1944), and earned an Emmy Award for her performance in the television series “The Double Life of Henry Phyfe” (1966). Besides her acting career, Hasso worked for the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) during World War II as a Radio Nord broadcaster, using her language skills to develop programming with coded messages for the resistance. Hasso, who began her acting career at a young age and quickly gained prominence with positive reviews for her performances, passed away on June 7, 2002, at the age of 91.
