Sharon Baird, a retired American performer, is best known for her role as a Mouseketeer on the original Mickey Mouse Club TV series. She first appeared in the film “Bloodhounds of Broadway” in 1950 and gained national attention when she joined the Mickey Mouse Club. In addition to her work as a Mouseketeer, Baird appeared in various television shows and films, such as “The Donna Reed Show” and “Bye Bye Birdie.” She also worked as a choreographer, dance instructor, and performed in numerous variety shows, including a performance for the Queen of England. Baird was part of the first television show to win an Emmy Award.
After retiring from the entertainment industry, Baird became a successful entrepreneur, founding and operating the popular Southern California costume shop, “A Wish Come True,” for over two decades. The shop catered to various Hollywood productions, including movies and TV shows.
In 2016, Baird was featured in the book “X Child Stars: Where Are They Now?” by Kathy Garver and Fred Ascher. She also appeared in a direct-to-video production called “The Mother Goose Video Treasury” in 1987. Her filmography includes roles in “Ratboy,” “The Lord of the Rings” (1978), and “Pufnstuf” (1970). Baird was one of the original Mouseketeers and has shared her experiences in interviews.
