Rebecca Marie Bross, a former American artistic gymnast, is renowned for her accomplishments in the sport. Born on July 11, 1993, to Terry and Donna Bross, she has an older brother named Benjamin. Bross began her gymnastics journey at five years old, training under coach Valeri Liukin at WOGA Gymnastics in Plano, Texas. Throughout her career, she won five World Championship medals, represented the United States at the 2008 Olympic Games, and was part of the gold-winning US women’s gymnastics team at the 2011 World Championships. Additionally, she secured two gold medals at the Pacific Rim Championships and four gold medals at the Visa Championships.
Despite facing numerous injuries, including surgeries on her right knee, left ankle, and back, as well as a dislocated kneecap and a torn meniscus, Bross persevered and achieved success at both national and international levels. Some of her other notable achievements include winning two gold medals at the 2007 Pan American Games and dominating the 2010 Pacific Rim Championships in Melbourne, where she earned four gold medals.
Bross retired from competitive gymnastics in 2013 and later became a coach. She married Billy Burks on December 17, 2022. In recent years, she has been involved in the USA Gymnastics sexual abuse scandal, playing a significant role in shedding light on the issue and advocating for change within the sport. Her dedication and achievements in gymnastics have made Rebecca Bross a prominent figure in the gymnastics community.
