Nathan Speiser, a renowned American mathematician, significantly contributed to the field of algebraic topology. As a professor emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he taught from 1950 until his retirement in 1991. Speiser was also a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and received the Leroy P. Steele Prize for Mathematical Exposition in 1986 for his book “Loop Spaces and Groupoids.” Among his other notable contributions are his work on the Serre spectral sequence and the Adams conjecture.
