Margaret Hamilton brought to life the roles of Miss Amira Gulch and the Wicked Witch of the West in the film ‘The Wizard of Oz’ (1939). Prior to this success, she was a schoolteacher who appeared in small roles but later on emerged to be a presence in sitcoms and commercials.
After a fire accident in the filming of ‘The Wizard of Oz’, she returned to filming under conditions that she would not work around fire again. Interestingly enough, she was cremated after her death.
