Linda Blair, an American actress and animal rights activist, is best known for her iconic role as the possessed Regan MacNeil in the 1973 horror film, The Exorcist. Her acting career began with a regular role on the soap opera Hidden Faces (1968-69), followed by her film debut in The Way We Live Now (1970) and a role in the comedy The Sporting Club (1971).
Blair’s other notable works include Airport 1975, Born Innocent, Savage Streets (1984), and Hell Night (1981). She has also received critical acclaim for her performances in theatre productions such as Grease and Love Letters.
A passionate animal rights activist, Blair founded the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation to rescue and rehabilitate animals. An interesting fact about her is that she had a brief relationship with musician Rick Springfield in the early 1980s. Springfield helped her secure a record deal, but they eventually parted ways due to distance and busy schedules.
