Jayne Mansfield started her career as an entertainer who eventually became one of Hollywood’s sought-after sex symbols in the 50s and 60s. She enjoyed box-office hits with the films ‘Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?’ (1957) and ‘The Wayward Bus’ (1957). Mansfield was notable for creating publicity stunts which included ‘wardrobe malfunctions’.
Despite their divorce, she decided to keep her husband’s surname Mansfield because it sounded ‘Hollywood’ to her.
The car that she died in was auctioned for $8,000 in 1999.
