British author Jack Higgins, born Harry Patterson, was renowned for his thrilling novels, with “The Eagle Has Landed” and “Eye of the Storm” among his most famous works. Writing under pseudonyms such as Harry Patterson and Martin Fallon, Higgins sold millions of copies worldwide and received the Diamond Dagger award from the Crime Writers’ Association for his exceptional contribution to crime writing. In 1992, he revitalized his career with the introduction of the iconic character Sean Dillon in “Eye of the Storm,” which propelled him back to the top of the bestseller lists. Other notable works by Higgins include “The Judas Gate,” “A Devil Is Waiting,” and “The Midnight Bell.” Several of his novels have been adapted into movies, such as “The Eagle Has Landed,” starring Michael Caine and Donald Sutherland. Higgins passed away in 2022 at the age of 92.
