Ennio Morricone (1928-2020) was a renowned Italian composer, orchestrator, conductor, and musician, often regarded as one of the greatest film composers in history. With a career spanning over six decades, Morricone created over 400 scores for cinema and television. He is best known for his unique soundtracks for Spaghetti Westerns such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and Once Upon a Time in the West. Additionally, he composed music for other acclaimed films like The Battle of Algiers, Cinema Paradiso, The Untouchables, and The Mission, with the latter’s score becoming the world’s best-selling at one point. Morricone received numerous awards throughout his career, including an Academy Award for Best Original Score for The Hateful Eight.
