Darren Day, a British actor, singer, and television presenter, initially began his career in a comedy cabaret trio at the age of 17. He later gained fame through his performances in West End musicals such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Summer Holiday. Day has also appeared in numerous British TV shows, including Eastenders, Doctors, Dancing on Ice, Holby, Crime Stories, The Bill, French and Saunders, and Hollyoaks. Additionally, he has released several albums and participated in reality TV shows like Celebrity Big Brother and Hell’s Kitchen.
Before going solo, Day worked as a Butlin’s redcoat and gained recognition by auditioning for BBC’s talent show Opportunity Knocks in 1987, appearing on the show in 1988. He later returned to pantomime, starring as King Rat in Dick Whittington, and has been involved in various stage productions, including Godspell, The Rocky Horror Show, We Will Rock You, and Hello Dolly.
Apart from his entertainment career, Day is an avid fine art collector, with a collection worth over £1 million, featuring works by renowned artists such as Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin.
