Shawntae Harris, known by her stage name Da Brat, is an American rapper and actress who rose to fame in the 1990s. She made history as the first female solo rapper to achieve platinum status with her debut album, “Funkdafied.” Some of her most well-known songs are “Give It 2 You” and “Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix).” Da Brat has also acted in movies such as “Bad Boys” and “Big Momma’s House.” In 2023, she made headlines when she announced her pregnancy at 48 years old.
An interesting tidbit about Da Brat is that she secured her big break after winning a rap contest sponsored by Yo! MTV Raps. This victory led to her signing with Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def label.
