Charlie Sykes, an American conservative political commentator, author, and radio host, gained prominence as the host of “The Charlie Sykes Show,” a conservative talk radio program that aired from 1993 to 2016. He has written several books, including “How the Right Lost Its Mind” and “A Nation of Moochers,” and is known for his appearances on news programs and contributions to conservative publications. Sykes has also served as a senior fellow at the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute and as a member of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editorial board. In 2018, he co-founded “The Bulwark,” a non-partisan news site focused on political analysis and reporting.
Sykes began his career as a journalist in 1975, working for a year at The Northeast Post, a weekly publication in West Allis, Wisconsin. In 1976, he joined The Milwaukee Journal, initially reporting on stories in the North Shore suburbs before being promoted to cover the Milwaukee City Hall beat during Mayor Henry Maier’s administration.
