Alexandra Ioana Stan, a Romanian singer, gained international recognition with her 2010 hit single “Mr. Saxobeat.” She was discovered by Marcel Prodan and Andrei Nemirschi in a karaoke bar in 2009 and subsequently signed to their label, Maan Records. Some of her other well-known songs include “Lollipop (Param Pam Pam)”, “Cliche (Hush Hush)”, and “Cherry Pop”. Stan has received accolades such as Best Romanian Act at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards and Best Dance Act at the 2012 World Music Awards. In addition to her music career, she co-hosted the Romanian version of “The X Factor” in 2012 and was a judge on “Romania’s Got Talent” in 2015. In 2019, she made headlines after being hospitalized due to a violent incident. Stan has released four studio albums, with her most recent single, “Bobo,” coming out in June 2023.
